    How'd you go TERRA?

These get good reviews around the web:

    Thinking of trying one out...

I talked to the guy at Extreme Custom Engineering the other day, he's a distributor of Magnaflow.

After a pay packet or two, I'll be taking my car there for a complete replacement exhaust (The current one will go on the GT Apex AE101 I'm building), He told me the car won't leave his workshop until it's just right. Fine by me.
I'll also be getting my front mount fitted (I talked to him a few months back about that) and my JAR alloy radiator slightly modified (mounts etc) and fitted too.

What are those moroso ones worth?

    Hey Terra,

How'd you end up getting on?

I've still got the rasp monster and am about to change the small rear muffler for something bigger... still not sure what to get, I never did get the moroso as I heard a number of reports of them falling to pieces and rattling etc.

Probably going to end up with another Turbo flow style muffler 2.25" (O-O or O-C) or an offset/offset 2" straight thru... getting sick of changing it though, this time I'll get a shop to do it cause it's a pain in the ass for my mate to do all the measuring/welding under jack stands, only for me to say "it's still too loud/raspy" lol.

The car has been off the road for months now (ground up rebuild while transferring everything from the GTZ to a GT-Apex shell), so not much has been done on the exhaust.
I have got a HKS 4-1 racing header that I got Craig at ECS to modify to fit the 16V head (I work next door now, so it's rather convenient) that I just need to get ceramic coated, along with the JAR alloy radiator modified to fit the other week (finally!), now I have to modify the fan to clear the engine mount...
Once the car is on the road, I'll get the exhaust looked at. I currently have a mild steel 2.5" system with a centre straight through muffler and two rear straight through (offset inlet, centre outlet) mufflers. They are just cheap items, but they work ok. I only used to get a bit of a buzz when it was all cold when I was using it on the GTZ, by the end of the street when it warmed up, it sounded pretty good.

The new system will be all magnaflo etc with nice big straight through mufflers.

Welp, if I can get another magnaflow at wholesale then I will, biggest body I can fit, probably 2" inlet 2.25" outlet. or 2"/2"...

Be nice if I could find a stainless oval muffler to replace my 4" round barrel..... I see they now have a 3.75"x7" that may fit, if only the exhaust tunnel stayed the same width as the cat section it'd fit... then again I can't remember, need to have a good look, will goto a shop tomorrow and see if they can quote on a fix.. the first place I went to during the week said they couldn't do a muffler fit for my car on a saturday it'd need to be a weekday... not gunna happen so will keep looking or ply Jezza with booze.

Went to Glenroy Exhausts to have a chat about my problem. We're going to try a number of different mufflers next Saturday morning, probably Redback, which I'll have to wait and see. Certainly the first Redback I had on the car sounded nice but was still on the loud side.

I was wondering if there is any merit in going to a bigger ID Tri-Flow/Turbo Flow?

I've previously killed a 2.25" Lukey Turbo Flow and a supercat 2" Tri-Flow (for engineering)... perhaps a 2.5" or 3" version would survive somewhat better?

I'll report back with my findings anyway so that hopefully it can help the gze kidz of the future

Hmm, went with a 2" Tri-Flow and it's developed a fricking nasty buzz/rasp at half to full throttle after a few days...full throttle & high revs eliminate the buzz/rasp and it just sounds like a whole lot of air being shot out the pipe, no real note at all... back to the drawing board or perhaps try a different center muffler.
