I always thought that TA22 ran the Corolla sized bearings, while the 23s and 28s ran the larger ones. I should check that because i have a pair of TA22 struts lying around in the garage.

So if i get you right, on the MA61 the B distance is the same or similar to the RA40 but the A distance is larger?

Just went out and measured my MA61 hubs:

    Same as my RA40 ones.

You could be right about the TA22. I've never looked into it, and just presumed all A2's were the same.

I think the A distance is the same, but the B distance is longer (on the MA61), but its been a loooong time since I checked.

From what i could see, admittedly in the dark, was that the hubs were identical between the two. Ill pull the MA61 ones off on the weekend to have a further check though.

I'm 99% sure the RA40 hub face was 'set back' compared to the MA61, but can't remember how much.

To confirm, the TA22 did run the smaller bearings.

To double confirm: the TA22 has smaller wheel bearings up till April '74, then the bigger one after (25mm vs. 27mm stub axle diameter if I remember). I found this out the hard way after ordering new wheel bearings from Repco to fix my presumably shotty wheel bearings, only to find the driver's side strut was the earlier type (25mm) and the passenger later type (27mm)
