    Default 4 cylinder twin turbo

Hi all, just would like to know if a 4 cylinder engine can be moded to run twin turbos. is it a workable mod or would the lag be too much?

mate it depends how many cc it is etc
like if it was a 2.7 3rzfe, im sure you could quite happily use turbos to suit a 1jz/ 2jz etc

if it was smaller you may just have to watch your rear a/r ratios.

It can be done, but it's not worth the hassle. with only two cylinders feeding each turbo there isn't really a proper, fast gas flow going to each turbine to give any sort of decent response.

add on the cost of twice as much plumbing to a single system, the cost of buying two small turbos versus one medium sized one and it's lose all 'round.

you'd be much better off with a properly sized single. get something with a modern wheel design and a ball bearing core and it'll spin up nicely while giving good power.

if it was said what motor they're going on eg 3rz, im sure you could cheaply adapt small oem turbos - ie 2j turbos are worth sfa.....

this is gonna be tried on a 2t/3t hybrid, turbos are off a 3ltr v6 and size are smallish like those on the 1ggte. Turbos are capable of 1 bar on the stock engine, could I expect it to come close on the hybrid?

So you're going to twin turbocharge a 1.8l that revs to 6500rpm or so with turbos sized for a 3l V6 and you're hoping it'll work well? I reckon you'll be lucky to get half a bar of boost before it hits redline.

Put a SINGLE S15 turbo on it if you want cheap,go for a GTSS/GT28 if you have a bit more cash available.

Maybe with a twin squential from a cosmo or 13B-REW ? They do require alot of solenoids to work the transitioning properly but i'm sure that can be simplified with modern aftermarket ECU's.

Definitely gave my rotary decent torque all round.

No real reason to unless you want to waste money. Not enough gas pulses to spool the turbo's up decently, regardless of how small they are.
The above opinion is just that - my opinion. It is not shared by any business that I am currently or have previously been involved with, nor any of their employee's.
