Copper ground wire for amp, to metal body.

Hello,

The ground wire I used for my amp was a copper wire with a ring type end. The amp was mounted under the seat, so I scraped back some of the metal around the bolt hole for the seat and put the ring end around the bolt hole, then put the seat ontop of it and put the bolt down, it holds very firmly but I'm worried because the ground wire is Copper and the Car body is metal will it just corrode and lose contact because of the dissimilar metals?

boris usually the ring type ends arent made of copper, they can either be brass coated or stainless or someshit... but no it wont corrode, possibly if water is poured over it everyday for 5 years straight but none of the cars ive EVER put an earth wire to the body has EVER corroded, its all safe mate

What do you think the rest of the wires in your car are made from? They all earth to the body too.

leeroy yes they are copper however all Toyotas lugs that I know of are coated copper not straight copper, assuming thats what Z2TT is talking about.

Z2TT: if its up tight it will be fine
