running 7mgte microtech on a 2jzgte ? is it possible?

hey guys i got a 7mgte microtech lt10 with ignighter etc and want a ecu for my 2jzgte
just wondering can i just get a new wiring loom and use this ecu and get it retuned or do i have to send it back to microtech to get the base map changed to 2jz.
ive tried calling microtech for the last few days and havnt been able to contact them so trying on here

7M and 2JZ use different types of CAS so I'm pretty sure you'll have to send the unit back to Microtech for that reason alone. This is one of the reasons I don't like Microtechs, they're not very "portable" between engines unlike say a Haltech which will work on nearly anything once you tweak a few settings.

edit because i found this but with the standard 7m ecu on a NA-T 2jz

From what i read if 2jzgte CAS can fit 2jzge then you can install 7M CAS into 2jzgte.

7mgte does not run a dissy, it runs a CAS which is similar to 2jzgte CAS but 2jzgte use's different electronics..

CAS is also known as CPS when it comes to 7M and 2jz....

CAS = Crank Angle Sensor

in respect to the 7mgte and 2jzge engines, it's driven by the cam so it's also Cam Angle Sensor or Cam Position Sensor (CPS). it has 2 extra sensors in there and a 2nd 1, 2 or 4 (can't remember) toothed wheel to allow it to determine Cam position as well as a 24 tooth wheel with a single sensor that provides 12 triggers per crank revolution.

in respect of a 2JZGTE, there's a toothed wheel on the front of the crank, so it's a Crank Angle Sensor. There are separate sensors on the cam(s).
