KE70 converted to AE86 bits (clutch, steering etc)

sorry mate
Cheers for the luck.
pity i cant start yet, need some room first
at the moment for a double garage we have
SW20 MR2
71 TA22
74 TA22
mums commo wagon
and a SV20 camry
the SW20 will be away once the 71 TA22 is painted and the SV20 will be gone when my older brother moves out (hopefully soon) that gives me plenty of room to get a car in there (but not 2) so hopefully grandma will let me borrow her garage plus her roof is more study for a engine crane
at this stage i would like to appologising for pissing around with some many stupid questions, i just want to make sure i dont get half way through and say "oh shit look at that, this isnt gonna work" i like to know all i can before starting so that its easyer to get around all thoughts problems you wouldnt expect
your right champ your message was straight forward
its all the others bullshit.
if you need any advise im more then happy to help
just let me no.
Well, I've still got gearbox, crossmember, etc. from my KE70 lying around. Also may have a modded Hilux diff for sale soon. Heck, even some suspension parts... Let me know if you get keen enough to buy anything.
what bullshit would you be referring to...?Originally Posted by ke-70-ge
as has been said, repeatedly, if he had read Kev's guide, he wouldnt have to REPEATEDLY ask the exact same questions, as they were answered in the guide that Kev wrote, as he did the same conversion twice, and owned 3 KE70s, one after the other.
i suggest you read the guide too, as you'll see that basically, every one of his questions was referred to, and answered, in the guide.
also, as your clearly learned in all thing ke70, why dont you post up a few pics, to show us all what your talking about...?

Mmmmmmmm 2ZZGE
did you use the clutch pedal only with the ke brake pedal/column? or use the entire 86 set up?Originally Posted by ke-70-ge
i ask because i dont agree. fitting an ae86 clutch pedal to a KE70 isnt really "easy". i just finished doing it. i think you should atleast include some pre warning in a post like that. its definately not like it just slots in peice of piss..
Guys i have hit a major problem i get up this morning check my email and a mate sent me this

coilovers for a AE86!
so what do i do. i can spend abit more time and money and put in coilovers (if coilovers went it so would a 20V silvertop)
or spend a decent bit less and stick with koni reds and a bigport Tvis bluetop.
the car is gonna be a streetcar but also i intend on racing occational motorkahns and hillclimbs and such in the car
do you need coilovers?
if you don't know why you need them, then you don't need them
heaps of places sell coilover tubes and spring perches.. not like they are hard to find....
if you do know why you need them, you wouldn't be asking![]()

everyone needs coilovers
I know why you would have coilovers and would really really want some but im more asking if its worth the time/money im not going all out racing just mostly on the street (not racing) and some small occational things
then, no, you dont need them.
