Hmm... now looking at Maxima and Stagea rims. Looks like some of them came with 15's!
Shows how much I know about nissans :S
I know it seems a funny request with all the easy-to-get 16's, 17's and 18's going around, but does anyone know of a particular type of 5 stud 15" rims that would clear 280mm skyline front brakes? It's so that I can use a particular tyre.
Obviously not many (if any) skylines are running 15's, so I haven't found any through those circles.
Offset needs to be late model nissan +30-40, which is similar to late falcons. And preferably 15x7. Can't be steelies either
I doubt the stock 15's on the AU futura would clear nissan brakes... what about 80's/90's toyota's?

280mm is a fairly easy proposition, i think most aftermarket alloys would fit over 280mm discs.
Im using Simmons V4s over 280mm discs and RX7 calipers, and the V4s arnt known to be overly forgiving in the caliper clearance department.
Heck, on my 297mm R33 caliper setup 15s were only a fraction off fitting, as per this picture:

I am running 280mm skyrine discs with r32 calipers and z31 hubs... as a consequence the caliper sits proud of the hub face by a bit so i've had some dificulty with 15s - if they are 3 piece then the caliper tends to make love to the bolts that hold the centre on, and they come very close to the calipers on my 16" watanabes
I did find some random 15s on ebay that ended up clearing though, i think they are actually bob jane branded
Off the top of my head they are 15x6.5 +40? Can get more details next time i'm out there if you like.. (next sunday)

Thanks Tak, I guess it's not just the diameter i'm worried about (as you said 280mm is not big), but also the spokes clearing the calipers etc. Nissan calipers stick out a fair bit.
I'm kinda hoping someone has found that, i dunno, 15x7 soarer rims fit on R32 skylines (or s15 etc) perfectly or something.
Failing that, I might just have to find a good supply of used 16" or 17" semi's.
Bananaman, nice find!
Maybe I'm asking too much for some cheapo stock wheels to just 'fit'... lol.
Hmm... 6.5 width would be a bit borderline with the 225's i reckon.
I was contemplating 225s on the rear, they'd be bulgey and maybe not real flash on the circuit? I don't have clearance for 225 on the front with these wheels..
If i go through with my stupidly offset simmons plan then i will no longer be using these as track wheels (i'll get something to fill the flares) - but i may need to keep them for wheels to use if and when i get defected ..
Speaking of cheapo, they only cost me ~$200, and they are as close to brand new as you can get, the dude used them for like a week.. I have the boxes and everything, so getting part numbers and shit would not be hard if you wanted

Thanks BMan. I'll see if I can find some 7's though, to suit the tyres. After all... that's why I want 15's![]()
Apparently MX62 stock alloys have great caliper clearance, and are 15" I believe, but they're probably 6" or 6.5" wide.
poo width
Maybe I should just splash out on a new set of tyres to suit my 17's. They'll be hexagons before turn one though, knowing me![]()
Pretty sure Cruz has pics of MX73 clearing
MX62 is 14" btw
Cheers

Wouldn't you be lucky to find ANY stock car with a 7in wide 15" wheel? Won't they all be 6s and 6.5s?

yeah, maybe a tad amitious. Oh well, thanks for all the suggestions.
I trialled a couple of wheels on an R33 with the 296(?)mm disc and 4 pots. 15x7 25P Jeep Cherokee mags were close on diameter (so would fit R32 diameter) but not enough depth for caliper clearance. Also tried ED Falcon 15x7 6P mags and they just failed the diameter test but seem to have enough depth for the caliper. I'm trying to find an R32 to try them on so I can start stockpiling rims for my Starlet. I guess you don't have the clearance to push the track out and run the Falcon rims? Are you running the full matched R32 discs and calipers?
