    Default Anyone using a Previa SC14 on a 4A?

I've been looking for pictures or ideas on how to make a bracket without a ton of fabrication skills.

My plan all along was to use the SC14 with the stock SC12 bottom bracket... until I found out that only works on the Soarer 1GGZE SC14, not the Previa 2TZ-FZE SC14 because the bottom flanges are offset much further towards the crank pulley. So now I'm back to square one. Its unlikely I'll be able to find a Soarer SC, so I'm just trying to make plans for down the line when I buy the Previa SC .

So I need some help figuring out what I can do as far as a bottom bracket and idler... Anyone?

Have a look on mr2oc.com. There was a guy on there that had pictures of his swap (Dave ot tarmactr). Their usernames are spelt something like that.

You'll also need the back of a SC12 to replace the one on your Previa SC14. I have a Previa blower waiting to go on when I get the enthusiasm
    [ $[ $RANDOM % 6 ] == 0 ] && rm -rf / || echo "You live"
The software required Win95 or better, so I installed Linux.

Yeah, I've asked both of them "davegt27" and "tarmactrr", and haven't got any useful info or relevant pictures.

I think I might just have to give up on the project. Nobody makes brackets, and it's not easy enough to mount the blower like the 1G SC, and its almost impossible to find a good condition older SC14.

I hate to do it, but I don't think its cost effective to keep chasing the 7AGZE when I already have half the parts needed to throw a 7AGTE together, while making way more power anyway.

Apparently even in the Australia, New Zealand, and Japan area they are becoming scarce.

I've posted a WTB ad here before and nobody answered it. I guess I'll keep trying to find someone who has one for sale that is willing to ship internationally.

Yes, the Previa and Estima SCs are the same. Those two bottom tabs go straight down on the Soarer SC, while on the newer ones they bend forward towards the outlet.

Here is a picture below to explain. The bottom two tabs (circled in red) should go straight downwards, just like the top two tabs (circled in green) go straight upwards. This is what seperates the Soarer SC from the Previa/Estima SC.

Besides the tabs being bent forwards, they are also slightly offset towards the pulley side.

Though... I never thought of using Yahoo! JP Auctions.

    I was able to find a 1GGZE supercharger... http://babelfish.yahoo.com/translate...rUrl=Translate

... but I don't know how to find out more info on it or actually buy it. Plus... 26,000 Yen ($258 USD) is a little steep for a SC of unknown condition. Then to add international shipping to Florida in the USA on top, I might be looking at around $400.

You live in the HOME of good superchargers! Forget the SC14, it's only a marginal increase anyway. Get your hands on an Eaton M90, Whipple, or any other decent twinscrew supercharger. It'll blow your mind, but yes, will need some fabrication (not incredibly difficult).

For everyone over here, SC14s do seem to be getting very expensive, and you can get a (much newer, better) eaton M90 for $250-500 (they were standard fitment on the SC commodore V6)

Well I don't want to advertise but if you guys need 1G SC14's then I got a heap of them here. Give me a call on 07 5593 8533 if you want one
They are getting a lot harder to find and the Previa type is more popular now but as above also a lot harder to make fit to anything.

Well one of the main reasons for wanting to stick with the supercharger was I liked the idea of a clutched blower I could turn on and off, and not having to fabricate brackets in the case of the 1G SC14.

I am not going to dump money into fabricating brackets and such. Its either an easy to mount 1G SC14 or no supercharger at all.

Talking Re: Anyone using a Previa SC14 on a 4A?

ive got a previa/estima one here i was planning on using i dont think that it;ll be that hard to fab it. i had a quick fit up on a dummy engine jig ive got here and it looked ok, i think with a little mahcining to the casing and a tiny bit off the bracket it,ll line up ok with a 4 rib belt

and i wouold have thought an M90 would be too large realistically for a 4a

M45 as on mini 1.6, maybe a little small.
M62 on??? i am not sure on these, but could be good option while waiting for TVS to be made smaller

whipples and autorotor are still bulk $$

is the only mention of condition....

26K is too much. i picked up a half decent one (i dunno which tyep it is, but has no extra pipes) for a fair bit less. they are heavy tho (12kg rings a bell?) so postage is nasty.

Both the M45 & M62 are smaller than the SC12... it makes no sense at all to use that. The M90 at 1474cc is a moderate upgrade over the SC14 at 1400cc since it supposedly can be spun faster, but still wouldn't be worth it to me unless they had a short snout clutched version like the M62 from the Mercedes.

If there was such thing as a readily available cheap (see: under $600) clutched M90, I'd probably use that over the SC14, but there isn't. The only other supercharger I was considering was the "SC20" (aka Ogura TX20) used on the Kawasaki Ultra 250x. They can be bought fairly cheap with low hours, and have a clutch like the SC12 & SC14. If I'm going to fab brackets... atleast I'm going to do it for a supercharger worthy of those brackets. The Ultra 250x makes 250hp and 175 ft/lbs out of a 1.5L DOHC 4 cylinder... so I'd assume my 7AGE hybrid should squeeze around the same with more torque.
