ok so checked my helmet and it says AS1698?

how does that not compley with what it says on the website?

There will be a build date sticker under the lining somewhere, check it out. Yes the website is confusing, I had my helmet that is AS1698 knocked back because it was a 98 model and older than 10 years. Even though it doesn't say it on the website there is a 10 year limit so just as easy to get a cheap motorcycle helmet at a bike shop and be guaranteed to run, or ring WSID and ask if your helmet will be OK.

AS1698 is simply not a current standard.

You need AS/NZS 1698. Or a Snell rating.

Snell ratings are the ones that are date dependent. Usually 12 yrs after the date of standard. IE Snell2005 is good til 2017.

There is thread in here with a cut and paste letter from the operations manager of WSID. It is very clear what they require.

Search around, I posted the letter, but cant be assed to find it.

Im pretty damn sure my helmet would protect my head in a crash.....I mean it is the exact same make/brand as the one I wore in the roll over with cuzbro...

you can borrow my helmet mang., as/nzs1698 as well as snell and DOT approved. i wont be going even if my car is running, only have time for toyotafest and the dinner and then i need to study my arse off to make up for it lol.
