I'd weld some extra alloy to it, then drill/tap the extra.
I had to do similar for a TD04L where I ended up welding on two pre-tapped lugs:

Asking here since noone has replied/read project thread.
I have a question for those experienced in turbos
I need to mount the wastegate actuator to the compressor housing since clocking the turbo around 180deg.
The flat raised surface with all the numbers stamped in it is pretty much perfect.
I just want to know if it's ok to drill and tap into this?
It'd only be shallow, it seems quite thick in that location.
Its a TD05H if that makes any difference?
Pic shows where an existing hole in the bracket lines up

I managed to make use of one of the existing bosses.
It's 8mm thick in that raised area incase anyone else wants to do what I've done and not go right through.
I just shortened a cap screw so it's flush inside the cover.
Turns out its 8mm thick there
Went right through but thats ok, shortened a capscrew to the right length.
