Idle is controlled by the ECU - aux-air valve is the thing (allows air to bypass the throttle), it's attached to the plenum somewhere (not so sure where with a GZE). It has a 6 pin plug on it. Is probably disconnected or loose?
Just finished putting a w57 in the 1ggze RT132. Wow! What a difference after the old
A340e Auto
Only now at start up when cold, it idles way too fast. Is there a simple way to reduce the Idle speed? Or is it more technical and controlled by the ECU?
Searched for info, but when i come accross all this ECU mumbo jumbo, I might as well have a go at reading Chinese
Help (in simple lingo) please?

Thanks Charles...I found the thing you mentioned and it is all tight and connected.
Thought maybe it might think it still has the Auto installed and is still idling fast to compensate for the extra load of the torque converter that it no longer has.
Anyway, I can live with it for now...it's OK when it warms up.
Ah...give me the old days with a Screw on a Carby to mechanically open the butterfly![]()

Ussually after resetting the ECU, or having the battery disconnected and reconnecting it will idle high on starts, ussually after a few drives the idle speed will go lower.
I've noticed also after cleaning my ISCV (Idle speed control valve) idle speed on cold starts has gone down from about 1800 to 1200, however after resetting my ECU by taking the fuse out its gone back to 2000, but after a few drives its like about 1200.
Cleaned the ISCV today....was a bit dirty, but didn't make any difference to idle speed.
So, I temporarily clamped the rubber pipe leading to the ISCV with a G Clamp and was able to adjust the idle to my desired idle speed.
Then set about making an adjustable valve, and installed it in the pipe.
Looks way better than the G Clamp
So....is there any unforseen problems this might cause other than I might have to adjust it up a bit in Winter?
Does the air bypass have any purpose after the engine has warmed up to normal operating temp?
Thanks

Yes,
With cars that have air conditioning, to raise the idle speed when the A/C Compressor kicks in.
Maybe the motor on your ISCV valve is not working.
