    grab the hub & pull it out until it will come no further (puts the inner CV on its full extension)

    shaft that had stumped me for about 4 hours popped straight out, and with a lot less force than I expected.

    If you do it that way with a tripod inner CV joint, and the strap is less than tight, you'll probably end up with the shaft in your hand, the spline still in the gearbox, and sloppy old grease running out onto the floor. The ones with retainers to stop them coming out, go for it.

    I do this at least once a week. 2 nuts/1 bolt on the LCA is the easiest way. Then either a lever bar to get it out of the gearbox, or if that fails, a brass drift and a hammer.

    Be sure not to damage your driveshaft seals putting them back in.
