Jack, what are you planning to use for a tail shaft, the box you have appears to have a rubber donut drive, can this be removed and replaced with a slip joint or do you have to make some thing fit?

    cheers, Al.

the rubber drive shaft coupling flange can be removed, however i dont know if you would be able to find a suitable slip joint to suit it easily, my only thought would be a 6 speed BA/BF/FG falcon ute, as they still ran a live axel leaf rear, where as the sedans all had IRS and thus had a rubber coupling

however im not 100% sure on this, they may have had a slip joint in the shaft rather than on the gearbox - but food for thought

Its interesting that this gearbox does not spigot the bellhousing on a central hole like most boxes. it would make it very hard to check the bellhousing concentricity with a dial indicator.can anybody see a way round this?

    cheers, Al.

Here is the yoke I am using. AFAIK, it is a standard GM item.

have you thought about, if you start to manafacture these flywheels or as a kit, making a flywheel to take a commodore clutch, so then its easy enough to get parts for, commodore gearbox, clutch disc, pressure plate etc

id be up for one of these and a bell housing addaptor

If I had the time, I would consider the above option to help out interested parties. However, I dont even have enough time to get my own car built. So only designing prts to suit my application unfortunately. Adaptor is the hardest part. Flywheels can be made by any capable machinist.

    Hi Jack,

Be aware that you will have to adapt a CV or Uni to the back of that slip yoke, the rubber coupler will only cope with about a degree of deflection for long periods, any more and they shit the gear quickly.

    Cheers

FYI a slip yoke from a Turbo400/350 fits and fits to a uni joint.

Just wondering if this has been trial fitted yet, and just a random thought, is the input shaft supported in the flywheel/crank?, and what are the chances of flywheels to take a falcon or commodore clutch as well?
