    Default Ae102 Anti Theft Circuit

Just in the middle of swapping out the 7afe with a 20v silvertop.... Thanks to the rain I've had to call it a day....

Would anyone have available a wiring diagram of how the security / anti theft system works on the ae102...

Is it unique to the ECU and by installing the 20v I've essentially ripped it out or is it part of the cabin body loom?

I know I can rejumper some pins in the rectangular plug in the center console, but I thought I'd ask what others have done to overcome this first.

Also is the starter circuit utilise relays etc or is it sufficient to take the input directly from the key (via rectangular plug) and feed the starter motor, ECU STA and the fuel circuit opening relay cranking input?

    Thanks

    Matt

I've got all the AE102 wiring diagrams up on my photobucket account, if there are any there which are too hard to read I can send you a high-res copy

Remember that there are some slight differences between the early and late models, I think the changeover was somewhere around 1995/96

Thanks hiro for the diagrams, printed them and I can make out what is what... They should come in handy as it is a 98 model ae102. It is good to know the BCM controls it and it is not unique to the ECU.

    Couple of quick q.s though

Do you know where the BCM unit actually lives, ie in engine bay or up under dash, behind pass kick panel etc.

And secondly, would you know what the key reprogramming sequence for the 98 102 would be, as the battery has been disconnected for more than a month and the keys no longer operate the doors.

    Thanks again

The BCM lives inside the car, in a couple of possible locations up under the dash on the passenger's side - taking out the glovebox would probably give you a visual.

For the remote central locking, if the key is still coded to the BCM (as it should be if it is the original key/BCM), you seperate the key and the remote and put the remote into the key reader which is in the top right of the glovebox, with the button facing up - when you do that, the security lamp on the dash cluster will light up for 5 seconds. That should make the BCM recognise the key again and allow the central locking/immobiliser to work again. This is what you do when you have to open the doors with the key instead of the remote (mainly due to interference by overhead power lines/radio tower etc)

Would anyone happen to have the center console 24p plug connector wiring?

I've had limited time to trace wires and work out what, but I mostly need to know what triggers the starter relay located near the steering column.

    Thanks

Starter relay trigger receives power from the ignition switch directly (wire colour in the ignition switch is black with white trace, black at the relay), and is grounded through the BCM module (wire colour pink).

When you say 24p connector, where/what is that connector joining? Just the loom pieces together, or loom-ECU/loom-BCM?

It is the one that connects the engine wiring loom to the cabin at the centre console near the ecu.
