there shouldnt be a contant earth/12 v- at the s/c clutch when the engine is running, only a constant 12v+. it's negative triggered. if there is then the s/c clutch would be contantly engaged.ground and 12v power there
hello, as it says, checked all wiring only thing not plugged in is the oxy sensor, but appis only applicable in closed loop mode..?? vaccuum lines to the acv come into mind, throwing no codes what so ever, relay a.ok, ground and 12v power there, ecu is not grounding smc..???

Have you checked by simply grounding the ECU output pin yourself and seeing if the relay switches and SC engages?
It could also be that the ECU has cracked it. I've heard several weird 4AGZE problems (though never exactly this) caused by ECUs which have started to go bad (leaking capacitors etc). May pay to check with a known good ECU and see if it works.
Hen
I need a working 4AGE bottom end. Pref smallport GZE, but all others considered. Also complete motors.
Drift Volvo. Was fun. 2JZ next time.
ah cheers guys, girls? yeah feral grounded it, worked perfectly, still not switching via ecu, at hairs end lol, took all wiring out etc.. traced back all input triggers etc all work perfect.. sc still not switching, this engine causes headaches =( haha, any one in adel with a 4agze series 2? (afm dli) if so coem help lol.
is this a conversion? or did it just happen?
i once had an issue with my s/c after i washed it.... water got into the TPS plug (it was cracked) car ran fine except no boost at all. and no codes. dried plug out, all back to normal.
I DONT WORK FOR TOYOTA ANYMORE
please, no more PMs!
okay fellas =) sorted!!1 too the damned ecu to a mate whos an elec eng at my uni.. turns out three resistors, labelledr409, r411 and r433 are dead, all off of the smc line =) hence why its not grounding, he thinks becuas emy ecu casing is damaged to hell..??? and the processer pins are quite bent its shorted or something, letting current into the resistors =( any one know the ratings of these fellas?
Can you take pics? they're probably 1/4 watt 1% tolerance metal film resistors.
Oh, it's probably a good idea to replace the capacitors while you're at it too. They have a habit of going bad in ECU's of this age.
check out my site www.jdmlevin.com for a how to and a parts list.
um i hav the ecu in my hands but my phone just died haha =( (no net at home only uni...) mmk little blue ones, the others are exactly the same in aestethics but are actually all different rated, the other problem is why they died..?
