MA70 P/S Rack???? URGENT

Hi People

Just a Question
Is there any similarities between a MA70 P/S rack non PPS and any other cars i.e. say a Cressida.
Even if its just the pinion.

The problem I have is that I am rebuilding a rack, on dismantling the pinion and control valve I have found the pinion shaft has a crack in it.

Now I have been on wrecker hotlines, other wreckers, P/S suppliers and can only come up with Racks that have PPS (solinoid on pinion housing). The pinion is different to non PPS.

Soarer of similar year maybe???

Z20 soarer rack will be the same, but I was under the impression that all were PPS.

Maybe some of the povo spec ones didn't have PPS?

But I doubt enough people on this forum will have played around with racks to that detail to give you an answer.

this rack I have is off an import!! what I have been told. I dont have the car to tell for sure, only the rack

the higher spec cars have PPS, you need an 86.5 MA70 non turbo rack.

the later model JZA70's, MA70's and GA70's all had the pps rack, im not sure when the changeover year was, whether it was 88, like the rest of the changes, but the 86 models are definately non pps.

they ARE power steering, but they ARENT progressive.
