What model Hilux mate?
Anyone know of any good zorst shops in Brisbane that are capable of some custom pipes for my Hilux, I'am utilising the crown log style manifolds and want a system made from there back, was thinkin 2 1/4 off each side into a single 2 1/2 over the diff, have got a few quotes from $1200-$1600 both with metal cats(2 of) and most places would prefer 3inch for a single system,i thought 3inch was a bit big, what have others done on a stock engine and ecu? Hoping to do it a bit cheaper too, any ideas welcome.

Couple of weeks ago we did a Hilux with 2.25" coming off the headers (aftermarket), joining then going through a 2.5" single system with a highflow cat and single large straight-through muffler. Sounded the absolute fucking tits, idle was very quiet but as soon as you put your foot down it sounded tough as hell.
I actually have to ring the bloke about getting my car towed into the workshop, I'll see if I can get some pics up for you from him.

The above opinion is just that - my opinion. It is not shared by any business that I am currently or have previously been involved with, nor any of their employee's.
Justen; its an RN90......... and The Random Man PM sent.
Is that a quote for a stainless exhaust, would probably be cheaper in mild steel.
I cant see a 3 inch single being too big
A friend had a stock 1uz with twin 2.5 inch and it sounded unreal when he was higher in the rev range
i had twin metalcats in my celsior through to 2.25" pressbent independent twin system with two muffs in either side
was greathad a nice sharp bark to it when it was near redline. i had to put stock cats back in, muffled it heaps and killed a bit of getupandgo
stainless vs mild, im a pretty firm believer in mild. aluminised stuff is just as good against rust really, and as its typically thicker walled its superior to stainless in terms of heat retention anyway, why pay more?

Nah those quotes are for mild steel and i'm starting to think i'm being ripped, will check on ebay for some cats as they are the killer $300 each and i need 2,some people have used 1 further down stream but will it get hot enough is another question, if it doesn't its not worth havin,it'l just be a restriction to flow,i think toyota put em straight off the headers for a reason.
mick08, check your state regs with the transport department. Being a commercial vehicle, you may not have to run a cat. If that is the case saves heaps of dollars.
cheers Chuck.

What i got mine done at Rocklea.... 1st a modified my standard headers so that they would fit inbetween upper control arms & steering shaft. I trailered the luxy down there got flanges welded on the back of the headers( that way they didn't have to be removed) also welded in fitting for the O2 sensors, a 2 1/2" twin to about the back of the cab (1991 extra cab) then into 2 1/2" high flow muffler then dumped just over the diff. (All mandrel bent, mild steel, under $500)I didn't worry about fitting cats on it thats 1 reason it alot cheaper.. I haven't got luxy on the road yet but have driven it abit & I'm pretty happy with the sounds she makes so far......
did you try Exotic Exhausts (Sumner Park) for a price? no idea about current rep, but a few years back they came highly regarded
found a place in ipswich that will do it with metal cats for $850-$900 thats mandrel bent 2-1/4 into a single 2-1/2 muffler and out the back sounds fair i think, he even wants the soarer drive flange i have left over from the conversion and will factor that into the price.
