Need help with 4AC, 4AGE motor and tranny combinations

I have a 86 ae86 sr5 with a 4AC, will this tranny work with all 4 series engines? I.E. 4AGZE, 4AGE, etc... same bellhousing?

yes, all 4a engine blocks share the same bolt holes including bell housing

but make sure the flywheel comes with the engine
as the twincam crankshafts have 8 bolts holding the flywheels on
instead of 6 bolts on the single cam engines
the single cam clutch is the same as the twincam, so it will bolt up
and try and get the complete wiring loom and ecu with the engine
and the fuel tank, youll find the fuel pump in there...good luck

I cannot find the pump at a local auto parts store? I live in the states and I have found it fairly easy to order parts for the car here. Good to know about the flywheel, and one more question.... is it possible to swap in an older 4age and keep it carbed? I dont feel like dealing with the wiring headache, I have gone through to many honda nightmares to name

all 4age's are fuel injected but can be converted
running twin carbs is fine, aquire a inlet manifold and linkage kit to suit...
but youll have to still use the ecu for the ignition side of things
unless you get a distributor and coil setup off another vehicle and get it adapted to suit
how strict are the smog/pollution laws in texas?
are there any roadside smog cameras?

no roadside smog cameras and we have non emission counties, If i register the car back home which is about four hours away I will not have to pass an emissions test

cleaner burning USUALLY means more power... especially on street engines(stock to medium mods)

There is a guy in the US, on the east coast, called Dr Tweak from Phoenix Tuning(both names are close... but I'm not EXACTLY sure) who KNOWS wiring... I mean he KNOWS wiring. He has built plenty of successful conversion harnesses.

I will have to look into that... I have decided to try and source a 16v 4age for my sr5 project but it seems they are next to non-existant in the states

ok i think i found a donor, its an 87 corolla gts running automatic. Now the question is in order to convert to rear wheel drive what do i need to source?

rear wheel drive intake manifold or if your using carbies disregard
rear wheel drive exhaust manifold
rear wheel drive water pump and thermostat housing, top hose inlet, fan,pulley these parts come up on ebay from time to time
your stock 4a engine mounts will go on the 4age

Yikes, I think i would rather do i silver top 4age than mess with all that for such little power, If im going to put that much work into the swap i at least want some decent power even if that means more $$$

I have been told that i would need the same for a silver top or black top + some sort of engine management. If i sourced a running silver top car why couldnt i just use the ecu and wiring harness in the factory corolla and do autometer gauges?

also i have found a possible second donor car, a 1988 mr2, same motor? what about the harness?
