Default !!!!HELP!!!! No brakes on ta23!

    H3y guys

I have no front brakes and barely any rear brakes.
The original master cylinder (mc) started leaking between the brake booster and mc.
Recently I bought an ma70 to replace the old one and have pulled it apart, I've put new seals through it, had it checked at a brake place and had a bolt machined (the bolt that holds the front piston thing in place from middle underneath of mc).
After bench bleeding, bleeding several times in the car and trying to pressurise it, still no fluid coming from the front port of the mc and practically no pressure at all.
It could be the bolt (being too long) but it only goes halfway into the mc.

    PLEASE HELP!!!!
    Thanks Cob604

You might want to add the MA70 Brake MC bit into your title on the original post.

Are you able to pressurise the fluid reservoir at all?? If you can, and there is still no fluid coming through, then check for blockages, as there should be a fairly clear path between the reservoir and the outlet when the pedal is released. The other thing may be that the piston is not being pushed back fully, and thus cannot suck fluid from the reservoir when released. Did you ensure that all springs were re-installed correctly?? There should be a spring right at the front of the piston shaft which pushes against the housing.

One other place to look is the brake booster. It will have a rod coming out which pushes on the end of the brake MC piston. This should be adjustable, and if adjusted too long, then there will be no opportunity for the MC to fill the piston space with fluid.

    Hope some of this helps.
    Cheers, Owen

you need to bench bleed the master before fitting it to the car.

hey. the brake guy said that thecylinder. original bolt I got was to short and that he could hear the front piston bouncing back and forth. that's why I got the bolt machined, so it was longer. and I also put it on the car to see if I could bleed the master cylinder as I couldn't bench bleed it.

thanks helps guys for your help.

Make sure your pedal freeplay is set correctly so that you are pushing on the cylinder pistons.
get a rag and some water to protect the paint, disconnect the brake lines from the master cylinder cover the holes with your fingers, get someone to push down/pump the brake pedal a few time while covering the holes so that no air is sucked back in when the pedal comes back up.
This should remove the the air from the master cyl(bench bleeding but on car).
Quickly and carefully (so not to cross thread fittings) refit brake lines and bleed braking system.
    Hope this Helps Scott

    hey.

i have tried to do this several times as you have said, but even if i keep my finger on the front port where the front brake line screws in and i get someone to pump the brake pedal, i feel a tiny amount of air when they push down and i can feel vaccunm when they take their foot off. its just not sucking fluid from the resiviour to replace the air that im bleediing out.

if i pour brake fluid into the front port as someone takes their foot off the brake slowely then put the brake line back on , get them to pump the pedal, take the brake line off and put my finger over the front port. get them to press the pedal once the brake fluid comes out with pressure behind it.

    thanks for your help

sounds like possible blocked feed from reservoir to front port or front piston fitted around the wrong way,or seal fitted around the wrong way not letting fluid in from reservoir?
