alot of people run the piping along the fron bar bracket so any size will work as long as you cut enough out to fit it in...

when determining size, you need to look more at the power your car/motor produces rather than what will fit as there is no point having a 3" IC pipe for a stock motor

but 2.25 is fine for stock motor with low to med boost...

    cheers

    Hi,
I made my owm intercooler piping using 2 inch stainless steel tube.
Some info I put together ages ago, http://users.chariot.net.au/~stmezz/interc.htm

My 3T GTE currently has 145rwkw at 14 psi using only 2 inch tube with stock TB and plenum. A lot of air is gonna go down a 2 inch tube, I think you'll find that other areas of your engine will be causing more restriction, eg stock plenum or exhaust manifold....

I do have plans to fit a custom intake manifold (that I have already made but havent found time to fit), still only planning to use 2 inch tube for the intercooler piping as I feel this is big enough....Aiming for 200rwkw...

    Hope this helps,
    Simon

    Gday mate,

I suggest researching what intercooler you will be running, then determine what size piping will be suitable.

From memory 2.5" inlet was pretty common when I purchased mine, so that's the diameter pipe I went.

See some pics of my car in the members section here.

    Cheers,

    Rob
