1000hp is a hell of a call...you're going to want a MASSIVE budget, and I think that starting with an MA61 would be a tiny, tiny dent in that budget that would be well worth it.
By the time you accumulate all the parts for the swap, find the bits that are missing, deal with all the problems, you'd spend far more than just buying the car to start with. Best way is to keep an eye on the forums, trading post, etc, and wait for one with a 1J/2J to turn up. There was one in Perth not that long ago that went for 5k, maybe less, in quite nice condition.

Injectors, fuel system, pumps, 2-3k

Chassis strengthening: 2k+
Wheels, tyres, suspention, brakes: 5-10k
And that's just a start...
