Mx83 cruise control problem

Hey all i think i have a problem with the cruise control in the mx83.
Sometimes it works but often when i engauge in the 'cruise' light on the dash flashes 4 times and nothing happens. After the 4 flashes it wont do anything at all till the car is stopped and ign off.
Any ideas?

Try disconnecting the battery for a few seconds then re-connect and test.

I know when i was trying to work out how mine works i made the light flash also..then i just wouldnt turn on at all..

works good now though....

A while back i drove a Celsior which would do the same think. It was leaking from around th ebottom of the windscreen, and the cruise ecu was filled with water.

The 4 flashes mean there is an error either *something* in the cruise control system.

On the Celsior I bridge 2 of the pins in the diagnostics box, and that puts all the systems into check more (TRC, ABS, CRUISE, AIRBAG, SUSPENSION). I think its Tc and E1.

I'm not sure how to do it on the Cressida though.

On my Celsior the 'safety clutch' or something is faulty, and it doesn't always engage.

I've got the actuator but no ecu if you want to try that. I want $25 for it but if you want I'll send it to you and see if that fixes it if you pay the freight.
