Microtech will be able to unlock it for you, probably a charge of $50 or so.
Does the manual state how to unlock it?
i am about to purchase a 2nd hand Microtech LT10S but the owner forgot what password he set few years back. now he can't unlock it. is there any master key that we can enter to unlock it?

Have you tried just entering 0000 as that is the default code and he may have locked it but not entered his own code meaning it would still be 0000, unlikely but worth a try.

Is there a hard reset jump somewhere?

or connecting certain pins together for a period of time?

I suspect there would be, but I don't think it would be marked.....either that or just a back up battery to clear memory. You would have to open it to see for yourself though.
If the total cost is minimal then just let Microtech do it.

Rep points are for those who feel inadequate in other areas !
I'd be worried about losing the configuration set in the ECU to suit the engine as once that is lost you can't alter it yourself nor save it.

There isn't a battery. We opened an LT10s to have a look inside once.
