Hybrid I said 205 on the front max because 215's poke out of the wheel arches at the front.
A friend of mine with another RA60 put 215's on the front and the RTA failed him for rego untill he put 205's on.

    on a different note............
Are all the tail lights interchangeable with RA60, SA63, RA65 and MA61? cus my old RA65 had RA60 style lights but every other RA65 i've seen has the same lights as MA61!
i notice "wirysage" has 65 lights, maybe u could shed some "light" on the matter ( no pun intended !)
    cheers

I still have the RA60 ones but I like the RA65 lights better. BTW your gonna be shocked by this but the MA61 lights are not the same as the RA65,SA63 ones. The MA61's are slightly deeper meaning if you got 2 MA61 tail lights and put them on they would'nt line up with your centre bit they'd be farther out than it. Worst situation I had was when I had one SA63 light and one MA61 light. They looked exactly the same but the MA61 light's grey back plastic bit was slightly deeper. If your gonna get a set of lights from a MA61 for your car grab the entire back bit including the number plate piece of plastic.

wasnt talking about just you, i've had plenty of other people tell me that 205's are as
big as you can go front and back.

the 225's on the front of my mates car only JUST sit out, 215's should fit inside. but
i suppose different tyres could change that too.

umm. i have ra65/sa63 and ma61 tail lights here, all have the same part numbers as
do the number plate garnish. i have MA61 Tail lights on my celica with the celica number
plate garnish and i have absolutly no problems with anything not lining up or something
    being deeper.

if your talking about the plastic surround on the tail lights beeing deeper than thats normal.
they have a habbit of "warping" or another problem i had once was the number plate
garnish was broken where it bolts up on one side allowing it to sit out further on one side.

can you get pics on what your talking about, because RA65/SA63 and MA61 tails are
    exactly the same.

Ok i think i should say something about my ma61's as yes i have been proven wrong about the max 205 size.
I bought hosking1991 supra rims and they had 235/60/r14 on the rear and 215/65/r14 on the front.

I have no scrubbing issues with the rear.On the front however if i hit a bump in the road or go over rail crossing i will hear scrubbing.
I reckon that it's because at the front i had 215/65 which i reckon the 65 sidewall is too large on my lower car as i am almost tucking tyre at the front. It mainly scrubs on the plastic in the guard.

The 235's fit in the rear perfect and really fill the guards with no scrubbing.
