PS/Alt belt tensioners will sometimes rattle around randomly at idle. Try bumping it a smidge off idle and see if it goes away or not.

I mean rough as in it sounds like it is running without oil, ie harsh metal on metal noise from motor. The car runs perfectly in way of response and power. Sorry if im not the best at describing my problem!

That is not a good noise/s and shows that one or more clearances are WAY too wide and that parts are POUNDING TOGETHER instead of pushing one another with a hydrodyna../.whatever film of lube between them.

old thread but I've had 2 Chasers now - and each had this (after a 'good' run .)

will go away the next day though , normal or engine about to shit a rod :O ??
