    Default Toyota Aristo, Celsior????

    Hey Guys

i cuurently own a 1976 RA23, which (if plan goes ahead) will be garaging, and fixing up maybe with the intentions of selling her (hopefully not, we have to keep our prides and joys).

BUT my question is, i am hunting around at the moment for another (more or less a more reliable car) to buy, i have been looking at a:

    celsior
    Aristo

at the moment im more leaning toward the aristo, as i wouldnt mind something with a little bit of kick but at the same time some comfort and sufistication.

what are people thoughts on the Aristo's? are they a worthy Buy or something to steer clear of?

    cheers

The Aristo is a nice car. Nice smooth power that just wants to be unleashed. However, handling feels a bit "floaty".

Probably can't compare to a Chaser though.

Haven't owned a Celsior, so I can't comment on it.

if you can afford it, go with the Aristo.

I bought a Celsior and it's a fucking Great car in so many ways, but now i want an aristo. Same luxury and quality, but has more 'go' than the 1uz in the celsior....

Mr 1JZ did a write up of Celsior vs Aristo a while back.

    Have a search for it.

if you can stretch te budget to a jzx100 chaser i would include that in the list too. im gonna get either a chaser or an aristo next year, and atm im leaning towards the chaser for quite a few reasons

yer i have been looking at the Chasers and i must say i am a bit keen for one.

seeing as they run a 2jz, im taking that are TWIN turbo? and the aristos are twin as well?

if i where to buy one would it be a good option to down to a single turbo? what can be the pros n cons with doing this has anyone done it b4?

anyone know a fuff price for it.

    Crowns are 2JZ/1JZ NA only.

The Aristo is pretty much the same platform with different appearance though.

    good artice.

i have owned a celsior and a mate owned a aristo.

i think the aristo is one of the ugliest cars i have seen, i hate the look of the thing.

if the 2jz came in celsiors i would still have mine.

there are some small differences in the interior, i actually think the celsior (bar the LCD problem) actually looks alot better than the aristo. i know they are pretty close but its just little things, like the selector for the auto, you could land a fighter plane on the one in the aristo and i just couldnt stand it.

as far as i can see though it all comes down to the engine you want..
