i have a RT132 corona that came factory with sealed headlights, i went to the Upullit auto recyclers and got unsealed headlights of a celica. I did this because i wanted to run whiter globes on the car. When i installed the unsealed lights, it would just blow the fuses and will keep happening if i replace it so i put on the old ones and no probs, what could be wrong?
Probably the bulbs are a stupidly high (and illegal) wattage like 100/150W. The factory wiring is not designed to take that sort of load, so the fuse pops before it melts the wiring!!
Remove one of the bulbs from the outer lights and check the wattage. Try not to touch the glass. If you do touch the glass wipe it thoroughly with metho or the bulb will last minutes!
If you insist on running high wattage like that you will need heavy gauge low and high beam circuits installed with heavy duty relays, and use the original wires to trigger the relays. Not too difficult. But really it's better to run sensible bulb wattages.
