Is the centre new?? If so, it could just be a little tight, if not it could be sloppy.
Hi there,
I've got a Volvo 240 diff with a trutrac lsd centre in my celica.
The diff is brand new and I've only started driving the car. I've noticed however that after a couple of km's of driving as soon as you turn a corner (small or large) the diff whines until the car straightens up again.
Any ideas? Preload stuffed maybe?
I used the oil the diff shop gave me that did the conversion but what oil is everyone else using in their torsen diffs?
Thanks
stidnam

centre is brand new....would be lucky to have 300km on it yet. Its a fairly loud audible whine its making though.
I built a brand new torsen centre in my f series, new gears, centre and bearings.. I built it myself but had a diff shop check gear mesh and backlash, preload etc. It's always whined a bit under light to no load..
Joel, what oil do you use?
I have to drive it up to the north coast next week so I think I'll see how its going when it comes back and then take it back to the diff shop for a show and tell![]()
I use a 85 - 140 oil..
neds to do sum skidz to break it in!
i'll sho u how
btw, lsx90 diff oil does 90percent of LSDeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee's
