Default Rear Window Seals, VSV, After Market Lights

ok as the heading implies i have a few questions to ask in regards to my car which is a MA70 1986.5,

I have the common brake light leaking issue which i would like to get on top off to insure that rust does not eventuate, where would i go to get the seals for the lights and wondering how hard it would be to do myself?

Another question i have is in regards to the VSV that controls the heater tap for my car, mine is completley dead, tried to pull apart and fix but is completley rusted inside, toyota wants $110 for a new one but am wondering what other alternatives there are, i have heard that a Camary one is the same.....is this correct?

ok last thing for now, well it will keep me going for a little while, actually i have 2 things, firstly wondering about aftermarket lights for the MA70 as they are getting a little dull (i am going to rewire) but wondering if anyone has changed to anything aftermarket that works well.

Last is in regards to the automatic aerial, mine still makes noises but no aerial come out do to the snaping off, should i just go repco and buy a whole one for $75 or can u just get the middle replacement bit and use that?

Ok that will do me for now, all hjelp will be appreciated

    regards,

    Phil

Ill help as best i can

Aerial - Best bet would be grab a second hand one(if you can find one ), otherwise you might need a new one. Some commodores and other common cars use electric aerial, depending on price might be worth trying to fit one of them instead.

Seals - Not sure on where you would get the seals for the lights apart from genuine toyota. Depending on what the seals look like(i dont have a supra so i couldnt tell you for sure) a rubber place(like clark rubber) might have something you could use.

Tail Lights - in 89 they changed the tail lights on the mkIII, not sure on how different they are but they could be worth a look at. You will have a hard time finding aftermarket lights i think, i had a bit of a look and didnt come up with much.

No idea about the vsv though sorry mate.

    Cheers

thanks for the reply, it is appreciated!!

rear light seals are $35 each from toyota. might pull mine out and see how bad they are, just dont want to do it and find they completley dead and have no seal for a week or so

Still after some clarification on the vsv, this is a common problem with the mkIII and i dont think people pay $110 bucks for one if there is a better way of doing it.

Aerial i think i am just going to grab a new aftermarket one for $75 from auto one and fit that in.........i checked price again yesterday. Should be all the same wiring i hope.
