Default Remote Oil Filter Spin On Adaptor

OK, so I have a spin on adaptor for my remote oil filter kit, however the male thread on the 1UZ housing is too small for the female thread on the spin on adapter. I've been to Pirtek and Enzed but no luck in finding a suitable adaptor.

Previously, when I've used a remote oil filter kit, the spin on adaptor comes with an extra threaded collar that you can screw onto your engines oil filter housing thread if it is too small for the spin on adaptors thread.

Where can I get one of these?

I'll throw up some pics when I get home tonight

throw up the size etc of the adaptor you need.

when i got my remote oil filter thing it came with a few different sized adaptors and im only going to use one of them. if the size you need is the same as one of my spare adaptors you can have it. im sure other people have left over adaptors as well.

PermaCool make the kits that you are talking about, and when you order the kit it comes with the collars you speak of, so try there.

Mine came with all the adapters too.

but interestingly enough, a lot of the adapters on these kits are sometimes found in std plumming supplies (the barbed adapters are). check your local plumbing wholesaler, take the bits in, they may have something (they may not, but worth the chance)

So heres what I am talking about.

Thanks Cruzida, thats the same kit I've used in the past.
The current kit is all setup ready to go except for this collar that I need.

godlovesugly, thanks for the offer mate. Much appreciated. I'll see what I can try and dig up through out the week. Where you located mate if I get stuck?

VPW Performance seems to stock a lot of PermaCool gear

They may sell the rings separately

I got all my remote filter and oil cooler stuff from the UK

    http://www.thinkauto.com/

They have a great catalogue you can download in pdf with everything you can think of for this kind of stuff, plus some useful tech advice within.

I am sure they will have what you are looking for.

Postage for something like that would be very cheap.

I had the advantage of coming through the UK on the way home from a meeting so saved on postage on the stuff I bought. But when I realised I needed one slightly different angle outlet when fitting it, got onto them and it was here within a week.

Plus you can ring someone there and get a straight answer from someone who really knows what they are talking about for a motorsport application. Never found that in Australia, and the mark up was astonishing here.

Jack, tell me the ID of the remote fitting (female thread) and the OD of the male thread and I'll see if I have something in my spares. We'll worry about the thread pitch after I find anything close

Send it as a TXT to my mobile unless you reply here in the next 30min.
