    Default KE35 1gge 6 speed Project

    Hi all
I have just bought ke35 and i was wondering which engine mounts are needed to fit a 1gge?
Will a 6 Speed bolt into 1 easily as well?

    Thanks
    Geoff

The J160 6-speed is about the same size as a W58, so if one can be made to fit, the other should. With a bellhousing from a IS200, it'll bolt on as well.

150hp 1gge, surely there is a better alternative, unless you are going to add forced induction.

you'll have to make up mounts

im building an IS200 2jzgte and ill have a spare 1gg 6 speed and a spare KE35 so it would be a pretty nice.

150hp in a 1000kg corolla would be a good reliable car not all cars have to be force induction.

j160 is a big box with a remote shifter, it sits further back than a w58.

fair enough then, spare car, motor, g/box, ecu etc makes it all make a bit more sense.

IS200 is 1G-FE isn't it? You will find it quite tight to get the engine in the bay so will have to push it as far back as possible, this is going to make bellhousig clearance a bit of an issue and put the shifter well back.

Yep, IS200 is indeed 1GFE, 119kw (basically the same as a 1GGE from memory)

it will fit piss easy, the gearbox fits in the tunnel no drama, but the shifter will sit along way back, but nothing that cant be worked around thats for sure
custom engine and gearbox mounts will be needed but all in all a straight forward engine conversion

You realise the "6 speed" has 5th as 1:1 ?
Its just more useless gears to get through, and over drive is not as good as W58.

Depends on what final-drive ratio you use.....

    J160 = Aisin Industries AZ6. Same gearbox(essentially) is used in the Miata, RX8, and S15, and SXE/GXE10.

    S15 6 spd 3.626 2.200 1.541 1.213 1.000 0.767
    RX8 6 spd 3.760 2.269 1.645 1.187 1.000 0.843
    Miata 6-spd 99- 3.760 2.269 1.645 1.257 1.000 0.843
    SXE10 6 sp 3.874 2.175 1.484 1.223 1.000 0.869
    TRD(33030-SE100) 3.106 2.175 1.585 1.223 1.000 0.869

Gear sets also available from HKS @ about $10,000 (USA)

Trans capability is around 205-210#/ft in a 2800# car, so say the S15 owners who wants 5 speeds because they are stronger
