Default 5 Stud on MX73 struts

OK, so its official, I cant use the search for sh#t. Tried a heap of different phrases and words, but cant find what I need.
Basically, I have MX73 struts which I have shortened and converted to coilovers. I have setup the R33/BA brake conversion. Using MX62 LCA's and got my camber and steering sorted.
I am now looking at changing to 5 stud because a very nice set of wheels have come up which will give me some extra options.
Can I use the MX83 hub on the MX73 strut? Or do I need to get MX83 struts and re-do the shortening/coilover process to achieve 5 stud?
Thanks in advance and sorry if this have been covered before.

very much appreciated mate, rep for you.
will it change the offset of the hub face compared to the MX73 hub? ie. will the BA/R33 brake setup still be fine?

Slightly off topic, but is this for your TA22?

I would be interested in seeing photos of your setup. Other than shortening the strut, and using MX62 LCA's, was there anything else you had to do to get these to work without majorly effecting your steering?

I noted your using a rack setup, which I will also be running.

MS65 hubs are +2mm further out than MX73 hubs.
    You'll need a 2mm spacer to bolt on BA/R33
Hub centre is also 67mm from stock.

So thats the way to go then.

Has anyone tried the MX83 hub on the MX73 strut? Are they like chalk and cheese or only minor differences?

What I am thinking is, the price of MS65 hubs are anywhere between $100-$200 depending on if you can find them. Am I better off getting a pair of MX83 struts (can get them for nothing) and cutting them down and rewelding the coilover sleeves on.
My current steering arms and LCA will still suit I would of thought as the bolt spacing is the same.

    Good luck finding a set

~$200 -> $300 for the MS65 hubs if you can find a set for sale.
Rears are about ~$150, but come up as often as the MS65's.

    Doesnt work.
Only other alternative is a MS85 hub machined to use different bearings.
There is a writeup somewhere on the forums.

    Or just buy JZX81 coilovers?

Or do you need to shorten them for fitment reasons ?

Had to shorten the struts because of the SW20 MR2 short stroke inserts.
Hopefully gonna grab some MX83 struts this weekend and get it all sorted.

Just run a spacer at the top of the shock?
