    Default ECU/ECT with shift controller

    Hey guys,

I currently have an MV Autos shift controller hooked up to my A341, but it is still spliced into my factory ECU. I was under the impression that the factory ECU still had to receive signals from the gearbox... is this true?

I know that if I completely disconnect it from the ECU then I will lose my dashboard lights, but will anything else go wrong?

    Maybe nothing, maybe this:

I would think that at worst it will go into some type of limp-home mode, but hard to say. I'm sure someone will have had experience. Best done on a dyno, if you ask me... that way you'll know if it has any impact on timing or fuelling.
Must.... avoid.... urge... to... upgrade... parts I haven't.... used.... yet.....
