I just think it is kind of strange that you are basing a product on the look of their website. A poor website doesn't mean a poor product, I may just mean they put alot more work into their product so that it can do its own talking not its website.

Adaptronic would work fine, the QLD Distributor is also very familiar with the whole range of 3S's. It will run the 36-2 trigger setup perfectly and also the ST215's solenoid-based single control wire ISCV and the denso COP setup. Using an adaptronic you'd be best setting it up as waste-spark using two of the three ignition channels and using the 4 injector outputs for sequential injection.

The main feature I like about the adaptronic E420C is how aftermarket wideband controllers interface with it. You can grab an innovate LC-1 or one of the WBo2 controllers for example, and plug their serial communication cable straight into the serial-in port on the adaptronic. No need for using an analogue output wire on the controller and worrying about ground offsets on the signal wire etc. Very handy if you're intending on street tuning it yourself.

The actual ECU case and loom plugs are a bit agricultural, but they get the job done... the tuning interface could be a bit more flexible but once again, it gets the job done.

The ECU also has more than enough inputs and outputs to control whatever extra's you want, like boost control etc.

I've also had good success on the newer toyota motors with the Vipec range of ECU's (Link G4 with slight differences), their V44 would set you back about $1700 though compared to the $1000-1100 the Adaptronic costs.

Both work with all the factory toyota sensors/systems etc.

JP - if you run the WBO2 in via the serial port, can you still datalog or real-time control the Adaptronic at the same time?

I can see the benefits of using the serial port to eliminate wiring/noise issues that seem to be quite prevalent with fitting non-factory WBO2 controllers and feeding in an analog signal but am curious if this approach then makes real-time logging (particularly if real-time processing/observing for tuning AFRs) an issue? (edit: sorry, that's a rather tortuous sentence)

Yep, two ports and works perfectly. All the info comes through fine in the datalogs and also allows you to take advantage of the autotune feature.

Anyway yes it's an ST215 engine going into another Toyota. I'll be using an SW20 gearbox box.

I ended up purchasing an Adaptronic due to various rave reviews/recommendations.
