wat if there is a fire INSIDE the safe, like in the simpsons??

I hate to get caught up in an arugment like this but the way i see it is as follows!

waiting 2+ months, is unacceptable, now for me, $50 isnt huge, but i still have to work 4 hours to get that sorta money, so i know where this dude is coming from, may not be much to people earning 50k+ but to us (teens, people still in school) its money that could be put else where. we choose to spend the money to help support Toymods.

I understand the work for most would be flat out, wat with family, work, other affairs, so i dont expect memberships to be granted INSTANTLY, maybe a new account should be made which just handles with applications, and the entire board has access to it, so people can access and monitor and grant members with their benefits!?!?

i have said somewhere along the line, i would be happy to help out with the online section of things, dunno how useful that would be since im over in Perth, not over towards the ol' man River.

my offer still stands, i spend heaps of time here, but not sure how much people would like an 18yo moderating an area!

    My 2c....

I dont volunteer for these things because i dont have the time to do it properly.
I dont live in sydney, and dont travel down for all events.

Without volunteers this club wouldn't happen. It is a very different entity to the one i was first involved with forever ago. I Don't necessarily like everything about its direction, but alot of work has been done by those who DO volutnteer to get it to where it is today.

For a long time i didn't join the club, partly because i didn't attend many events as such, and partly becauseits direction wasn't alighned with my own.

I thought about joining later though as i do value the forums, which are suppied by the club to the greater toyota community.

my Father sent in my membership (thinking he would join me by surprise) only to not have the membership ever come through - the cheque was never cashed. No-one contacted.
    So i remain a non-club member.

There are obviously flaws in the system - this occurs in any system, more so in a volunteer one with such limited resources.
But remember when pointing out these shortcomings that these people are not PAID, and do it for the love of it....

Perhaps ppl are repping him for having the balls to say something?
Or for being so civil about the situation?

i guess he should get a prize for being civil
edit: and i am glad he apologised for his conduct in his first post (well sort of)

say something? he already started a thread about it before, and River replied saying he was looking into it.

There is already a thread dealing with this exact topic, which has been replied to by Rod updating the situation. you know the
Is your Club membership renewal or application outstanding ?
    thread......
which Wirysage had NOT posted in.... and was the second thread under the stickies...
so no searching.. no looking.. no posting in his own thread...

there was no need to start a new thread when there were already two threads, one by the OP, already doing the rounds.....

but hey, if having balls means ignoring the actual thread that was started to deal with this situation, then good on him
usually people get a bit slapped for starting multiple threads on same topic and ignoring existing threads... why is this one special? what does it achieve by bypassing the thread that is specifically for this topic, started by Rod???

it is not like the issue has not been raised, and is not being dealt with... the reason of the T-shirt delay was posted previously....

what, like people ignoring the thread started for fixing the problems in this thread?

    edit: http://www.toymods.net//forums/showp...2&postcount=86
and thats all that was needed. rather than the accusation that the club and board members treat membership as a joke....

    this sounds familiar...

Not having a dig, but it seems the constitution is a bit out dated.
Why is it, any other club, run by volunteers, can do their memberships electronically, and within 7 days of payment + form being sent off?

I just joined up to SAU, last friday I sent my form off. All of my account was activated today, and I was notified my membership had been received.
They receive their forms via fax, and post, when done by fax, it is received straight into the computer, and processed.
So far, I haven't seen anything detailing why the forms have to be taken to the meeting, other then for what I can see as, allowing Kirsty to collect them.

Also, do you not ALL own computers? I'm positive each and every person can spare 500mb to backup all of the electronic documents.
Seriously, save them as a TIFF, a 4 page tiff is normally a max of 120kb...
So lets say for 9 forms, it's 1mb... 4500 forms can be stored in 500mb... Now compress them... Even more so!
Now, it's bloody piss easy to set up an SSH connection to encryptedly send the documents from one PC to another, AS BACKUP!

Also OC, 2 External HDD, for what purpose, I'd call you a flipping idiot if you didn't keep an off site backup, as in, in another members house... Same issue, that drive is only going to get swapped once a month... And that really doesn't work.

I could help setup a system that will allow you to do backups to keep all of the forms electronically. Keep the paper too, but hey, just send them to one and other electronically.
Also, still don't see the point of having part of the constitution stating you must keep original paper work... :S

admitting you have a problem is a good first step

the next logical step is to stop blowing things out of proportion and have a bit of patience (unlike on that other forum)

    good luck with it.
