And if you want to see the best set of sour grapes I have ever seen for a club event, have a look at the posts in this one by one of the Pedders team members sooking because they didn't win best presented:

If ever there was motivation to go back and stick it to them next year, I think that will do nicely!!

"Secondly being a part of the Pedders shirt crew it was extremely dissapointing to find that they did not win the best presented team as they had spent literally thousands to make sure they had a good show for everyone, and for the event! Everyone noticed them, can't say the same for the team that won!"

HAHAHA. I love it. Looks like a new wallpaper for Slim's computer?

I think a big difference was that a large company was supporting one team, while individual pockets (and not very deep ones at that) were supporting the other.

Plus, it was best presented... not most noiticed

please note that that was an opinion expressed by 1 team member
please dont think that the whole team has sour grapes
sure they threw a lot of money at there team shirts , and understandably were dissapointed , i thought that they looked great ,and there are a lot of enthusiastic and helpful guys in there teams , big trev for one ,it was explained to me that there were other factors that were taken in to consideration
they were the tremendous effort to make our teams cars look like a team, as well as there apparell
the enthusiastic manner in how our team presented to the officials for the volunteering duties
the team spirit in the pits , and so on ,i for one was extremley proud of our teams efforts , this year was the most enjoyable 6 hr that i have taken a part in , and i have done 14 0f these over the years ,
congrats guys dont let the opinion of 1 dampen the feelings of many

When i set out to win that award i paid particular attention to all the criteria upon which it was judged.

    Written in the supp regs:
This will be judged by members of the organising committee based on:
    - Car condition
    - Neatness of Team pit attire
    - Deportment of all Team personnel
I also sent an email to Neil asking specifically about it.

    His reply:
    Hi Simon,
The list of awards are in the supp regs which is 1st, 2nd and 3rd placegetters plus best presented team. Criteria for this is, dare I say it, there is none, but don't quote me.
Basically, the few people from my catering crew are sent to inspect each garage/team during the event. Dress, mannerism, appearance, kindness towards visitors and judges are taken into account. A nice uniform looks good but the expense!!!
A bunch of fancy shirts by themselves is just not enough.

One thing i learnt from school and uni.... When you're getting tested on something you need to fulfill every requirement. Excelling in one area alone doesn't necessarily give you a good overall result.

We are happy you won, it was about cars being the same and shirts, not just about shirts, which is why you guys won.

And a point of clarification, the shirts wer NOT supplied by Pedders. The owner of Pedders Bendigo coughed up for most of them, and some of us paid for our own. He spent hours designing them and the they were bult in Bendigo.

There were 4 Teams wearing those shirts, mostly paid for by Pedders BENDIGO, all just mates having a good time.

I wouldn't have thought I would have read bitchiness on here

    hi trev
i dont think that the bitchiness is from here, and i would be very dissapointed if it was, but was quoted from the alpha forum
simon and eddie did a fantastic job organising our shirts , as we dont have any sponsorship ,this win means a lot to our teams, eddie and simon did a course on design /graphic application , (i am not sure what the official name is) when they were happy with the design the gave the disk to the printer and
next thing we had shirts and stickers for the cars , the deadline on this was so close that most of us didnt recieve them until the saturday and the stickers were still being aplied on race day ,and on top of that eddie, had two cars to get ready for the race as well ,one with a major engine rebuild with some key components missing from the machinist ,(now eddie knows how hair turns grey )
All that being said , we may have set a precedent for next year, about the cars with the same sign writing
once again , thanks simon eddie and all our support crew , just as a quick guess i think that the average age was around 26 ,and that would be lower if you didnt take my 62 years into that average
looking forward to next year ,as we are planning a camp fest ,( not the gay variety) why pay for motels, when we can freeze in style at the track

I hope my post didn't come across as bitchy. I meant only to point out that we had spent a lot of time not only designing and manufacturing our shirts + car decals but we had paid particular attention to the judging criteria. Basically that a lot of effort was put in by many people. That is all.

The Pedders shirts were definitely impressive and i agree they were better than ours. No argument from me there.

Yeah, my apologies Trev.... the 'business' impression I got was from the giant bulls, which were pretty impressive!

Sorry if it sounded like bitching... but I was just trying possible justifications why the most noticed team didn't win. It must've been a pretty tough decision for Neil and the crew.

an understandable desicion, it makes sense to me. As I pointed out in the AROCA froum, I understand the decision. It is a pity that one blokes comment over there gets transfered here and we all get tarred with the same brush.

The bull suits have been a regular part of the 6 Hour, except for last year. Grant form Pedders Bendigo was at Bathurst the week before and bought them back with him as he did the flags and marquee. The bloke that helped with our cars was in the Bull Suit at Bathrust as well.

It is a marketing decision by Grant from Pedders to boost his business, he contributes an awful lot to our teams in the way of product and labour for which we are very thankful. He is a great bloke and a very good personal friend and if we can help him promote his business then we will, hence the name of our team.

There is no bitterness in our team about your win, just disappointment we didn't.
