Got another question, My car is black, white, and REALLY bad OBVIOUS spraycan black in some places *lower half of body* to seal the bare metal from the elements on the day- are they going to care? plus my passenger door has a massive amount of bog thats been smashed out- I havent got time to change the door + everything else. Will I get let through?

you will be fine.. They don't check cars.. Unless there is something seriously wrong and your car is leaking coolant or oil (or coolant into oil for all you 7m's) all over the track, you'll be fine..

It seems we got 1 spot spare, so I'm gonna start contacting the list of alternates as soon as I get to work to see who wants a spot..
