    Default 4M overheating problems

    Hey all,

Guys my clutch fan recently shat it self so I replaced it with a 16" thermofan, I have placed it on the engine side of the radiator with it sucking air thru the rad and onto the motor, now the car sits on around 3 quarters on the temp gauge, just a whisker away from the 'H'. Having the thermo how I do, is this the best way to keep the motor cool?

By the way its a MX32 Cressida.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

clutch fans usually move more air than thermos, so you have to increase the efficiency of the thermo

ideally the thermo should be mounted in a shroud, the shroud should cover the entire radiator and the thermo should be a small distance away from the back face of the radiator not directly on it

similar to any standard shroud setup

here is a pic of factory AU falcon thermos .

See if you can mount the thermo inside of the original fan cowling where the original fan would sit.Fixed.
