z20 soarer brake upgrade qn (fitting jza80 disks)

hey guys im doing the brake upgrade kit with the supra 323 mm disks and 4pot skyline calipers with the nightpager kit bracket and today as i took off the stock calipers and disks i went to slide the new disk on and it doenst go on over the hub
the stock disks have a lip that i think allows this while the new ones dont.
will i have to get the hub machined or what??

I remember the kit coming with a spacer that goes under the discs to space it out a little, i think its 3mm. Did you get them?

Would that be enough to fix the clearance issue?

Try speaking to dori dori or Disturbed1 as they have the same kit (Grant sold it to Disturbed1 - both havent reported any issues for fitment)

i got that spacer but that aint the issue.
i cant get the disk on at all over the hub
i kno i have to get the spacer on b4 i put the disk on anyway
but im pretty sure i have to get the inside of the rotar machined

I seem to remember reading that this doesn't work on hubs with the ABS teeth.
But this is just a faint memory.

btw, I'd machine the hub before I machined a disc.

ie. why the nightpager kit is for JZA80 323mm rotors but the rotors don't fit our hubs?

The JZA80 disk wont clear a A70/Z20 ABS hub, the solution was to use 350Z track edition front disks. Albeit you need a hub centric ring spacer for either option.

So why do nightpager make a kit for the JZA80 disc when the JZA80 disc won't fit A70/Z20 hubs?

I also fitted the nightpager kit (well, a copy sold through toymods), and my mechanic had to machine a tiny bit off the hub (i.e. the lip), even with the ring spacer - I was assured it's safe. I used JZA80 4-pot brake discs (i.e. 323 mm), Nissan Z32 calipers. It worked fine in the end, but also, the pad overhangs the disc a tiny bit. As far I can tell, this is what most people running the kit experience (and is fairly common across various cross-model brake upgrades). I've been told that to fix the overhang you may be able to get one type of 350Z discs, but I can't confirm this. My mech took pics during the swap, i'll try get them and post them. As i'm stripping my z20 soon my full brake upgrade will be for sale too, I can at least take photos of it the way it is now. It is a massive improvement despite those two issues.

Sorry Loonie I was just informed from a reliable source that there is 5mm interference on non-abs hubs also, 350z rotors are the only solution.
