Here are pics of my current setup, i didn't get a chance to take pics of where the hub was machined, but you can see how the pads don't go across the whole Supra discs (you can see the clean area is where the pad has scrubbed the disc clean) -

The pads were never going to cover the whole disc. That kinda happens when you use a pad designed for a 280mm disc on a 323mm disc.

Yup, that's part of it, but it's the mounting position as well.
Not really, if the bracket is designed properly then its mounted in the best possible place.

The mounting bracket isn't designed properly then. As above, the 350z track disc may be a slightly larger diamter and may go further into the caliper and stop the pad overhanging, i'm not sure - can anyone confirm with experience?
With the 323mm supra discs the pad overhangs, as detailed above. So although not perfect, it's way better than the stock brakes, and i'm told it's fine. Also, my friends who are into Nissans advise there are bigger brembo calipers that should be a straight upgrade (same bolting position and same disc clearence, etc.), so that was a future plan for me.
You can forget using the Brembo calipers (I assuming you mean Nissan R32/R33/R34/350Z), they won't work unless you have a 370mm ish disc, and even then its not a guarentee.
I haven't actually seen any evidence of pad overhang in this thread, hence I didn't think it was an issue. But yes, if there is pad overhang, the brackets have been designed badly (either that or it cannot be done properly)

Yeah the pads overhang.
I'll ask my friends about the brembo's again, why would you need such a 370mm disc?
Because the Brembo caliper is designed for a disc 44mm bigger than a Z32 caliper.
323+44 = 367mm

I'd be surprised that the Nissan discs with the brembos would be bigger than 323mm? My friends who mostly run those brembos thought the discs I was running were huge.
Is it the depth of the caliper that's the problem? The caliper will go right over the 323mm disc?
GTR discs are 324mm.

1mm different? Seems pretty close... So, would the brembo's go right over the 323mm disc and hit something in the middle, or what?
Do all Nissans that have brembos have 324mm discs? I thought there were different brembos and different discs?
The Z32 caliper is designed for a 280mm disc.
When you are using it on a 323mm disc you need to space it out ~22mm further compared to where it is in stock form.
The GTR caliper is designed for a 324mm disc, but bolts to the same place as the Z32 caliper.
So when you bolt a GTR caliper to the same place as a Z32 caliper, it will stick out 22mm more than the Z32 caliper.
So if the Z32 caliper is mating neatly with a 323mm disc, the GTR caliper will be spaced out 22mm and thus needs a ~367mm disc to work.
R32/R33/R34 and 350Z Brembo's are all 324mm fronts.

Ah I see, because of the spacer position. Cheers for the info.
When I was looking at all that extra unscrubbed space on the disc I thought it might fit, but the problem is the other way around, damn.
