It's a bit of an annoying job upside down under the car but if that's what you prefer as opposed to the 1.5 hr job of taking the engine out of these cars...
Dropping the crossmember is probably the easiest way by far, still need an engine hoist for that though, or at least a bar and a chain to dangle the engine from the strut towers. But it's easier than it looks, the crossmember holds just engine mounts, LCA's and four bolts to the chassis rails. And removing it opens up a LOT of working space.
Did this on a mate's TA22 years ago, I think we even left the LCA's attached to the crossmember (only lowering it, not removing it completely) but that's not recommended since it still leaves the crossmember in the way. I'm pretty sure we didn't touch the sway bar - not needed if you drop the crossmember.
