    Default Link ecu

Hi has anyone had any experience with link ecu's? i have got my hands on one but has no loom, it has a tune to suit a 2valve black top. I want to use it in a aw11, my question is are they any good? and it has no loom where would i be able to track one down?

    Hey dude.
I used to tune these where i worked. They are an awesome ecu depending on which model you have.
What model ECU is it, LEM, Link PLUS G2, G3 or G4.
let me know if you have any trouble with it, more then welcome to give you hand setting it up.

Give Link a call to see if they have a loom available. Simon or Cameron should be able to sort something out.

it seems they are popular in the subaru world, ive seen a decent number of rally cars using them. seems to be a budget driven pick between link, autronic, or motec.

I bought a G4 extreme for my cressy and i couldn't recommend them enough. Even the storm is great for a 4cyl.
Link has closed loop knock control which actually works
Traction control, anti lag, lauch control, warning light outputs, anti theft, boost control, switchable maps, auto tune etc.

Tuneability is great. Ive tuned Motec and Autronic before but i enjoy the LINK the most.

I'm also running a G4 Extreme (Vipec V88), replaced my Autronic SM4 with it and couldn't be happier.

Vipec V88 is a Link G4 Extreme with slightly different firmware and support from Australia.

Whats the difference in cost between say the Link g4 xtreme and the equivilent MoTeC? I've heard that the motecs are great, but each feature costs more? (sometimes a couple thousand more)

a G4 Extreme will set you back around $2500 with all the options enabled, DBW, antilag, launch control, wideband closed loop lambda, onboard logging etc. They can be had a bit cheaper if you've got a contact in NZ and have a way of getting it to Aus from there.
