Help with immobiliser location....

Hi everyone,

A few weeks back i installed my alarm system without the immobiliser.... (Toyota Paseo 92, Manual)
Now, I want to install the immobiliser on the Ignition.. but i can't seem to find the right place on the wiring diagram (i have attached the wiring diagram)....

If someone can point to where on the wiring diagram i should install the immobiliser and where abouts in the car i can find that wire (probably behind the main console)...

Hi,

Just remember That it's not just one wire needed to install the immobilizer.
You need to find :

- A constant 12v Source, you splice the appropriate wire from your Immobilizer into the cars wire

- The Ignition wire, you splice the appropriate wire from the Immobilizer into this wire, this is to give a signal to the immobilizer for when the car is off and on. From Looking at the Diagram it looks like this is the Black/Red Wire.

- You will also need to run one wire through the immobilizer, such as the wire for the Startor Motor. From Looking at the Diagram it looks like this is the Black/White Wire.

I should be okay finding the:
- 12V constant wire & wire that goes from immobiliser to alarm

trouble is figuring out which wire to put the immobiliser between (starter and ignition coil).

It looks to be the Black/White wire.

My immobilizer allowed me to run 2 wires through the Immobilizer, so I ran the Starter through it, and the wire for the Fuel Pump Relay through it too.

do you know where abouts on the black/white wire i should cut?
don't want to do it right next to the ignition switch. was hoping somewhere a bit more hidden....

Hi,

That Depends where the Wire goes to, If it goes down toward the kick panel, you could take the kick panel off and cut the wire somewhere where it cannot be seen.

For added security, you should cut the Fuel Pump Relay wire from the ECU, and run it through the immobilizer.

I usually figure out where to place the immobilizer unit first, before I do that I make little Looms for the wires before I put my immobilizer in. After I put the immobilizer unit in, then I run the looms to the appropriate places.
