XR6 turbo is just a GT35R with a .86 housing (not 100% on the housing), so yeah, it's a good turbo for the 2gay... in fact, some people would say no need for the T78![]()

not the original plan but ive run out of car funds cash as I was hoping the stockers would last me at least 3 months and give me some time to build up some more for a T78...cant bear to see the shitbox sit in a shed for another 3 months...

1.06 rear...., weld up the internal gate. The actuator is only good (stock) for like 10psi.

From what I remember reading, the stock XR6T turbo is a Garrett GT40. read up on the turbo's specs on the Garrett website and see if it's suitable??

Full boost around 3500rpm, capable of close to 400rwkw
Tis referred to by many names, GT35R, GT35/40 & GT3582R all names used by Garrett over the years for the same turbo.

RONA, what have you read on the stock actuator only being good for stock boost?
Pretty certain there are a heap of XR6 turbos running standard turbo's on at least 1BAR, but as you say maybe they weld up the internal gate and go with an external gate

Stock one won't hold boost very well at anything above 10psi.

mates making near 450rwkw on his XR6 turbo with one of these, had to get some shit done to the rear housing in order to make it while controlling boost properly.
they are good shit, just wee bit laggy on the 3000cc.
