yep, a good tune is another factor, but definately seems to need lowered comp, possibly among either things, ohh well theyve been tested and now we know what should be done, you can get away with stock comp i think on 8 or so psi and low timing, and it will still make over 200rwhp probly. lower the comp and boost could go up. but im not risking another block and 200rwhp doesnt satisfy me .

any one looked at decompressing the head and pistons? looks like a lot could come out of the head, brad should have a spare head, bolt the old head gasket to it, keep checking with a piece of wire inside water jacket, cc everything, aluminium die grinder bit will make it easy. their could just be enough

i've talked to Matt Kelly, who originally built the car. All that has been done to it. Is a decompression plate, stock headgasket, stock head bolts, and slight CC'ing of the head and porting of the head. That is it. The bottom end is still totally stock.

Thanks, any info really helps. i,m still using std head bolts, cams & springs. Just adding up the price of pistons & rods against lifting head, 2 gaskets, retiming cams etc. am chasing cam & spring kit if any one finds anything let us know

Hey mate, i just want to get mine going first then will let you know, they seem a very simple motor if i can get them to take some boost & revs they should return good hp. mines going together with stock head cos i want to go to jamboree & dont want to run out of time. bottom end, Rods Pistons $1690 Nitrite crank $160 Bore $100 + assembly head. cams springs (Had a quote for $450 but still checking) & polish, Poss $4500 exchange or less but as i said wait & see, don,t want to see any air conditioned or over heated exchange motors though. Got that motor apart yet?
