Smile Air/ Fuel gauge wiring for ST185

    Hello Toymodders,
I recently got a hold of an Autometer Pro-Comp Ultralite Air/Fuel meter and what I would like to know is where to connect the purple wire? Once I got this information on the net(should have saved it) that it should not be connected to the O2 sensor (wiring diagram included) I have been Googleing this information but no luck. I hope that one of you guys in here have saved that information or better still can give me an advice on where to connect this wire. As always thank you in advance.

I connected mine from the O2 sensor wire that is running to the ECU under the dash on the passenger side. It works fine for me. I also did the same thing for my friend and its works fine too.

So what you can do is locate that wire (you might need wiring diagram for your car if you not sure which one it is) and connect it up and try

    Thanks Progkamol,
Thought that nobody cares here anymore. I'll give that a try and let you know how I went.
    Cheers

    Hiya RobST162,
Just kidding mate, I know that for a fact that everyone here will help if they knew the answer. I haven't tried Progkamol's suggestion but I will surely try it over the weekend (time permitting). I'll post back as usual just to let everyone know. So the information is good for everyone.

OK, just a suggestion, I would use a spade connectors to do the job as it will be easy when it comes to removing or replacing. Off the spade connectors one wire goes to your guage and the other goes to your O2 sensor signal wiring. Be sure that you connect it to the O2 sensor signal wire.

Like I said before, I connected mine from the signal wire that going to the ECU and mine works fine. However, some people did say that it would make the ECU get the wrong reading but some said it makes no effect to the reading. Another way yo can connect it is that you run the signal wire from the guage (purple in your case) through the firewall and connect it up to the O2 sensor signal wire in the engine bay (make sure its the signal wire as there might be more than one wire there).

Good luck with it ... Hope all goes well for you
