Arrow LPG Convertor / Mixers: Feedback / Advice... ?

Ok, for those who have researched this in the past and been kept in the loop, what is the advantages and disadvantages of the different available mixers ?

This will be for an 95Kw 1.5L Engine, so the convertor / mixer may need to be extremely tuneable ?

Idle has only a slight loop to it and Vacuum is still very strong.

I tried the search function but failed to find such a topic...

Anyhow, thought this was thread worthy, considering the price of Fuel will be back up to $1.80 within 12 months I suspect along with the fact that Toyota's came from factory with 100Kw 1.6L Engines.

A 1.5 Litre running LPG will require some kind of forced induction to make 95kW.

    ^ correct!
Unless your running lpg injection in which case you should be able to get similair power figures, potentially even more than 95kw(maybe 100kw) with liquid injection.

If you dont want to spend that much just accept that you will lose alot of power with a old school mixer converter set up, they will do the job, just not as well as the higher technology solutions. pretty much any of the common gas systems(polyauto, impco, gra) will work reasonably well on small engine like that, just remeber that the crappyness of the fuel metering will excaberate issues like lake of low down torque/ top end power.

Even the Gas Research mixers/converters ?

Yeah, I suspected as much though.... Unfortunately the Vapour Gas injection systems still cost in at the $4-5K mark which is a lot of petrol........

even the gas research converters. its arguable which mixer flows the most, an impco 400 or gra s510 but both of them restrict the airflow prior to intake manifold which will cost you power on any fuel injected engine. doesn't the relationship between quality and price suck balls?

In a small engine you are also up against the fact that LPG burns slow and as a result doesn't produce good torque at high rpm.

My 7m with gas ring type LPG makes 115rwhp. I thought that was actually very reasonable for what it is. (dyno comparisons aside)

Does the figure of 8% less power with LPG ring a bell to anyone?

Anyhow, im using an Italian made mixer and i have had no problems what soever. To me they seam like a well built quality unit. Perhaps take a look at the link if it interests you.
