guys i just closed a deal for a GX71 Mark2 that comes with a 1GGZE. i am wondering which version of 1GGZE it has. from what i noticed, the rear 3 cylinders are fired by COP while the COP does have an high tension lead and goes to each of the front 3 cylinders.
its a converted GX71, so the 1GGZE is unknown at this moment.
can any one help me?

no its more like cylinder #4, #5. and #6 are Coil on plug, #1, #2, #3 spark plug is using spark plug cable, no doubt it is still waste spark system, but it is not the same as what a 7MGTE has.
its the exact same as the photo shown below, but lack another pair of it
thanks bill for the photo

But it's exactly the same as my 2jz-gte vvti has.
What info are you after with your "version" of the 1g-gze? they're not quite like the 1g-gte, with 3 distinct generations and differing boost levels, injectors etc.
all websites i've referred indicate there are 2 generation of 1GGZE, one is 165hp another late model is 185hp. so i just wanna find out which model i have
thats IS waste spark.Originally Posted by CHB
sure 2 cylinder have the coil on the plug, but COP refers to every cylinder having it'S own coil...
this is just "half COP packaged" waste spark![]()

All 1G-GZE's run a waste spark ignition system. You should be able to find the year of the engine (spark plug leads at least) by looking directly at these leads. Looks like you have either a Gen 1 or Gen 2 1G-GZE.
