Massive vibration/shaking after supra gearbox swap

Some updates on this

The machine shop called me back today and said that the flywheel is out of balance by a few grams but the real problem is the brand new Xtreme heavy duty pressure plate which is WAY out of balance.

Since Xtreme took a few weeks to deliver this one I am not going to bother trying to get a replacement, especially since i would not actually trust their replacement one to be balanced either. The shop is going to balance my flywheel and pressure plate together instead, but they said they are going to have to drill a lot of holes in the pressure plate to balance the weight.

They are going to get it balanced and then bolt it onto a spare crankshaft and see how it runs like that. I'll put up some pics of the finished work when I get the parts back.

I would be very wary of getting the clutch balanced up without going to Xtreme about it as then you will effectively have no comeback if it is still no good. You need to give them the first opportunity to correct the issue, I don't see the clutch lasting long with a lot of balancing work needed so take the opportunity to get it fixed or free or your money back now.

If it was that bad, Extreme probably didnt balence it at all. It might have just got through without any inspection especially if it was made in China and packed for Extreme. I had a case where the replacement pressure plate made by the same manufacturer as the original plate was 1kg lighter. I called them in the UK and they could not explain why.

something else to check is do you have one of those brass bush spigots or a bearing?
i have had the brass bush supplied before with the hole in the centre machined off centre (lathe guy must not have known how to work it - they are not that hard) by a well known conversion shop up here in toowoomba that was so bad it cracked the new bellhousing.
