Default 2jzgte and 5 speed into JZX100 Chaser

Been thinking about it for a lil while. Wanting to wack a 2jzgte with a 5 speed box as the 6 speeds are VERY expensive. Wondering wat problems i would come into with this conversion. I know the shifter position might be out slightly, but would everything else bolt up?? How hard is it to make a remote shifter with a kink in it and will it work ok?? I'm sure i have seen these in race cars, but as i want the car to look factory stock, i'm not sure it would work. Does a 1jzgte VVti 5 speed box bolt to 2jz??
    Thanks for all your help.

    My dearest Jake,

please use a W58 from a JZZ30 or a JZA80 or an R154 from similar. These will bolt up to your tujayzeenoshit and the shifter will be in the correct position. This of course will be the least of your problems. Main issue will be wiring....all the rest should be reasonable straight forward.

    Yours sincerely,
    Dave.

By the way, I recommend Cointreau, Kahlua and Bacardi mixed in equal quantities over ice. It makes for an excellent leg opener.

I have been told the R154 is the box to go with but the jzx100 and the soarer boxes have different positions of the shifter. Is this correct?? Also you meantioned wiring. What wiring would you be talking about?? Is it for the speedo ect or is am i missing something else.

Also thanks for the quick reply.

    Jake

he means wiring the engine into your current car. which usually mean integrating the wires from the engine to the body wiring harness etc.

you can use an r154 out of the jzx100, the jzx110, any jzz30 etc. They have the shifter position in the correct place already and should be a nice fit.

your last question about a 1jz vvti bolting up to a 2jz, well, yes, considering it is an r154, haha. All gearbox's that came behind the 1jz and 2jz are interchangeable.

Shameless plug: I have a zz30 r154 with the correct shifter extension for sale. pm for details.

Car is up for sale. Decided to get a dedicated track instead of butchering this beauty. Anyone interested see the for sale section.
